Musicians and AI video: visualisers, teasers and lyric clips
Chrisphine Otieno · 19 Oct 2026 · 2 min read
A song release today is a content campaign. Before release, there are teasers. On release day, there is the official video, if the budget allows. Afterwards, there are visualisers, lyric clips, behind-the-scenes snippets, dance-challenge clips for TikTok, and reminders for weeks. Each piece keeps the song in front of listeners.
Major-label artists have teams for this. Independent artists in Nairobi, Lagos, Kampala and Dar es Salaam often have a phone, a producer and a few friends.
Where AI video helps musicians
AI is not a replacement for a great music video directed by a real director with real performers. It is a way to fill the gaps around it:
- Teasers: five to ten seconds of mood and a release date
- Visualisers: a looping or evolving scene that matches the song's mood, for streaming platforms and YouTube
- Lyric clips: a hook line with visuals, perfect for Reels and TikTok
- Release posters: cover art adaptations and date announcements
- Tour and show promotion
With Tari Studio, describe the mood and scene, attach your cover art or photos, and get a short video back. The length, shape and credits appear on a quote before you commit. The AK2 model, built for music-led pacing, bold colour and modern African style, suits most music content. AK1 and AK2.
Your audio, your rights
Attach a WAV clip of your song (up to 30 seconds), with your cover art or photos, and the quote will say it is making a video from your references, with your track among them. How attachments work. Only use audio you own or have the right to use; uploading someone else's song is not yours to do.
Protect your likeness
Your face and voice are part of your brand and your income. If you want AI content featuring you, set up a character with your own description and pictures, and keep control of it. Never generate content featuring another artist's face or voice without their written permission, and be wary of anyone who offers to do it with yours. Characters.
Lyrics on screen
For lyric clips, the words must be exactly right, and in the language of the song. Set the language of on-screen words to Kiswahili, English as Kenyans speak it, the mix, French or another of the supported options. Type the lyrics yourself and check every frame.
A release calendar
- Two weeks before: teaser with the date
- One week before: a second teaser, pre-save link
- Release day: official video or visualiser, plus a lyric clip
- Week after: dance or challenge clip, behind the scenes
- Ongoing: lyric clips of different lines, show announcements
Keep it yours
Fans connect with artists, not tools. Use AI to amplify your vision, not to replace it. The best AI music content still sounds and looks like the artist made it.
