Meet AK1 and AK2: video models tuned for African Kontent
Chrisphine Otieno · 11 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

Most AI video models learned what a shop, a street or a family looks like from footage shot far from Nairobi, Kisumu or Lagos. Ask them for "a woman topping up electricity on her phone" and you often get a kitchen, an accent and a phone that no customer of yours would recognise.
AK1 (African Kontent 1) and AK2 (African Kontent 2) are the Studio's answer. They are two video models, each paired with a set of instructions our AI director adds to every request, so the scene, the people, the language and the accent fit an African audience from the first frame.
AK1: grounded and real
The director steers AK1 towards documentary realism: real homes, shops, offices and streets, natural equatorial daylight, handheld or eye-level camera work and candid moments. Think painted walls, mabati roofs, busy counters and people who look like your customers.
Use AK1 when the ad should feel like a true story:
- a landlord explaining a problem in her own office
- a mama mboga greeting customers at dawn
- a before-and-after that has to be believable
AK1 makes clips from 2 to 30 seconds, with sound. The launch ad for Tari's "Ondokea meter sharing" campaign on our home page was made with AK1.
AK2: bold and cinematic
With AK2 the director goes the other way: saturated colour built on your brand palette, confident people in modern African fashion with kitenge and Ankara accents, dynamic camera moves and music-driven pacing in the spirit of Afrobeats and Gengetone.
Use AK2 for launches, promotions and anything that should stop the scroll on TikTok or Reels. It makes clips from 4 to 30 seconds, with sound, and can also change a clip you attach or continue a finished one.
Language and accent
Both models take the language you pick on the quote: English as Kenyans speak it, Kiswahili, the everyday Kiswahili and English mix, international English, French or Mandarin Chinese. The director writes every spoken line and every word on screen in that language, and keeps brand names, prices and phone numbers exactly as you typed them.
How to try them
- Open the Studio and describe your ad, or type
/scriptfirst to have the director write a timed script. - On the quote, open Model and pick AK1 (African Kontent 1) or AK2 (African Kontent 2).
- Pick a language under Look and feel, check the credits, and press Generate.
Nothing is charged until you press Generate, and the quote always shows the credits first. See pricing for today's rates.
