Agro-dealers and input brands: selling seeds and fertiliser with video

Walk into an agro-dealer in Kitale, Embu or Kisii during planting season and you will see a wall of bags: seed varieties, fertilisers, foliar feeds, crop protection products. The farmer standing in front of it has a budget, a plot, and a lot of uncertainty. Which seed suits my altitude? Is this fertiliser worth the extra shillings? Will this spray kill the pests without harming my bees?

Most of the time, the farmer buys what a neighbour used or what the shopkeeper recommends. Video can earn that recommendation at scale.

Demonstration beats description

Farmers are practical people. They want to see:

  • The crop: what a healthy stand of the variety looks like at different stages
  • The method: how to plant, apply, mix or store the product correctly
  • The comparison: honestly, side by side, where you have real trial results
  • The dealer: where to buy it, near them

Make clips for each season

Input buying is seasonal, and so should your content be. Before the long rains, show land preparation and seed choice. At planting, show spacing and fertiliser application. Mid-season, show top-dressing and pest scouting. After harvest, show storage.

With Tari Studio, a marketing team can describe each scene, attach photos from real demonstration plots, and get a short video back, with a quote showing the length, shape and credits first. Building from your own field photos keeps the crop on screen honest. How attachments work.

Words on screen must be exact

Product names, rates per acre, mixing ratios and safety intervals must be exactly right. Type them yourself and check them letter by letter in the final video; brand names, numbers and phone numbers stay as you typed them, but a human should still read every word. For a product poster with a lot of text, pick Ideogram 4 (clear text) on the quote.

Safety is part of the product

Crop protection products can harm people, animals and water if misused. Every clip about them should show protective clothing, safe mixing and proper disposal. A brand that shows safe use is one farmers and regulators will trust.

Speak like the farmer

Switch every spoken line and caption to Kiswahili, English as Kenyans speak it or the mix. For regional markets, French is available. Have an agronomist who speaks the language check the final words.

Make dealers your partners

Agro-dealers are your sales force. Give them short clips they can post on their WhatsApp Status and in farmer groups, with their own shop name and location at the end. A branded template in the Studio lets you make one version per dealer quickly. Templates.

Never overclaim

Yields depend on rain, soil and management. Do not promise a number of bags per acre unless your trials show it and you say where and when they were done. Farmers remember a broken promise for many seasons.

Make your first demonstration clip.
