Nearly 2.8 million visitors: how Kenyan tour operators win the next booking

Kenya's tourism numbers have been climbing for four years. Government Delivery Unit data cited by Travel Daily News put international arrivals at about 2.79 million by June 2026, up 88% from 2022, with earnings of around KSh564 billion. Other outlets report slightly different totals for the 2025/26 financial year, but all agree on the direction. The growth has been credited partly to destination marketing under the Magical Kenya brand, better air links and the Electronic Travel Authorisation.

More visitors means more competition among those who serve them. A traveller planning a safari now compares dozens of operators, lodges and packages, mostly on a phone, often months ahead.

What travellers want to see

A brochure lists. A video answers. The questions behind most bookings are practical:

  • What will my day actually look like? The game drive at dawn, the camp at night, the drive time between parks
  • What is the vehicle like? Pop-up roof, seats, charging points
  • Who will look after me? The guide, the driver, the camp staff
  • Is it worth the price? The view from the tent, the food, the small details

Short clips that answer one question each do more than one long film that tries to answer everything.

Building a library, not a single ad

Think of your marketing as a library of short, reusable clips: one per park, one per vehicle type, one per lodge you partner with, one per season. Over a year, the library becomes your sales team. Agents can send the right clip to the right enquiry in seconds.

Tari Studio helps fill that library faster. Describe the scene in a sentence, attach your own photos of camps, vehicles or guides, and get a quote with length, shape and credits before anything is made. AK1 gives a grounded documentary look that suits safari realism; AK2 gives bold, cinematic energy for promotions.

Never show what you cannot deliver

Tourism is a promise made months in advance. Use AI video to show what your trips are genuinely like, ideally built from your own photos of your own vehicles and partner camps. Do not show wildlife sightings as guaranteed, or a lodge you do not book. Reviews will tell the truth either way.

From video to enquiry

End every clip with one action: an enquiry form, an email, or a WhatsApp chat with your bookings team. When you publish from the Studio to Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, add a tracked WhatsApp link so each enquiry arrives tagged with the post that brought it. How tracked links work.

The domestic market is growing too

Kenyans travel more within the country than they used to, and they plan differently: shorter trips, long weekends, school holidays, group travel. A clip in Kiswahili or English as Kenyans speak it, aimed at a family or a chama planning a Naivasha weekend, reaches a market many operators still underserve. Ads in your customers' languages.
