From script to screen: write a 30-second ad with the AI director

A good short ad is a story in three moves: a problem people recognise, the moment your product changes it, and a clear next step. The Studio's AI director can write that story for you before a single credit is spent.

1. Ask for a script

In the Studio, start your message with /script and say what the ad is for and how long it should be:

/script 30 seconds: a landlord struggles with one shared meter and tenants arguing over the bill, then each tenant gets their own meter and peace returns

Pick your brand, product and characters in the bar above the chat first, and the director uses them. Writing scripts is free. It takes about a minute, because the director thinks through the timing, so you will see a "Writing the script" card while it works.

2. Read it scene by scene

The script comes back as timed scenes. Each one says what we see, who speaks and their exact line, any voice-over, the sound, and the words on screen. A 30-second script usually has four or five scenes that join up and fill the time: the struggle, the turning point, the impact on real people, and a call to action with your tagline.

The director only uses facts you gave it. If you did not give a price or a phone number, it leaves them out rather than inventing one.

3. Fix any word

Press Edit words to change a line of dialogue, the voice-over, the sound or the words on screen. On-screen words are worth checking letter by letter: "KES 4,750", a phone number, your web address. Whatever you type is what the model is asked to show.

4. Make the video

Press Make this video. You get a normal quote: the length follows your script, and you can pick the model (AK1 for grounded realism, AK2 for a bold commercial look) and the language. The quote shows the credits. Press Generate when you are happy.

The director then uses your approved script exactly as written: same scenes, same timings, same lines. When the video is ready, open Script under it to see what it was made from.

Tips

  • One idea per ad. Thirty seconds is short. Pick the single change your product makes.
  • Say the language. Choose Kiswahili, English (Kenyan) or the mix on the quote, and every spoken line follows it.
  • Keep on-screen text short. A headline, a price and a contact are plenty.
